Since 2024, our Statewide Plantings team has been bringing trees to cities and towns throughout the state.
We work with volunteers throughout New Mexico to organize tree giveaways and plantings.
We share our program process from start to finish including:
- Community building through neighborhood or tribe involvement
- Tree Plotter database training materials
- Sample documents
- Suggestions for partnerships with your city and county
- Suggestions for funding sources
We want to help you bring trees to your community! TreeNM will provide everything you need for 3-5 pilot plantings, including training, systems, and trees.
Please contact us to explore the possibilities! Email plantinginquiries@treenm.org for more information.

Las Cruces
In fall 2024, we joined with Cruces Creatives and the Doña Ana Soil and Water Conservation District to create the Doña Ana NeighborWoods program. Thanks to funding from the U.S. Forest Service, we’ll be sharing 2,100 free trees with residents of Doña Ana County through 2029.
