Erika Robers

Assistant Director of Education

Erika Robers developed a love for trees growing up in Wisconsin amidst green forests and many lakes. Erika has a master’s degree in education and after teaching high school students, recognized her love for experiential, outdoor education through her work with Chicago youth in local forest preserves and urban farms. In 2014, Erika, her son and husband relocated to Albuquerque to be close to family, mountains and outdoor recreation. Soon after, she completed the Master Naturalist program and achieved her masters in Community and Environmental Planning from UNM. Most recently, Erika has been working as a planner for Groundwork Studio on green stormwater infrastructure projects and community planning for parks and outdoor spaces. She is a passionate reader, traveler, podcast lover, and activist for social/environmental justice. She loves spending time with her book group, gardening, biking, camping, and board gaming. Erika is ever curious about the natural world and is excited to combine her experiences in community engagement, education and environmental planning in her new role at Tree New Mexico.
